This November, I’ll be traveling to Bangalore, India for work. I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to see what the world is like in south west Asia. I’ve got to start practicing some things like not using my left hand. That is a tough cultural transition to make. I am sure I can figure out how to just eat with one hand because usually, I don’t eat with my hands at all. But doing something like waving, or gesturing or pointing, or handing someone something with my left hand is certainly a tough habit to break.

I hope to do a little traveling there, perhaps some of the students will be going somewhere and I can crash their party. Certainly, this will have to be outside my already lengthy agenda of items to achieve while there. Personally (non-professionally), I’d really only like to do/see 2 things: 1. Visit the Taj mahal 2. get henna tattoo, the rest as far as I am concerned can be simply being in India. Okay, maybe I’d like to do some Yoga. OH YA, I forgot I need to get back into yoga before I go. Better get on that….

I hope to challenge myself while there. When I lived in Costa Rica, I didn’t do a whole lot by myself. I always had my host family or my study abroad friends by my side. I hope that I adventure out a little, though I know myself… I tend to just relax, especially when traveling alone. I just need to remember that I need to take full advantage of a free trip overseas. It likely wont happen again and will be a once in a lifetime chance. I still have no idea what my agenda will look like. Thankfully, I fully trust our resident director there to keep me busy.

I guess I am rambling on at this point, but I really am excited! What a chance to see the world!
